Default 291 Double Hump SBC Heads

I have a set of 291 casting double hump heads with 202/160 valves, and screw in studs. No valve springs, but does come with a set of keepers. They are virgin heads, never been cut. The Casting Number on the heads 3917291 Date stamp is 1-68

I took these in on trade on a deal from a members of the Mudstruck site father who is on this board back in December, and I will probably never do anything with them.

I do not know much about them, other than they were on said members truck and running when pulled off to swap out to aluminum heads.

I have them wrapped in plastic, and the photos tell the story.

I would like to get $300 OBO for these.

Luke

Very good heads, good price. I'll add they are a 67-68 302/327/350, no accessory holes, 64cc heads.

These are a night and day difference in hp and torque gains as a 1hr bolt-on. A very common 882 350/400 head is 76cc, and these are 64cc. They raise your compression and are a great bolt on.

Good luck with your sale on a great head. I'll ask around here if someone needs them.

Thanks.

I have a friend who has a set just like this on a 355 CI dirt track motor and is winning races/championships with them.

I have a 95 Z71 with a 350. Would these work? Would I still be able to run pump gas?

Vortec? They are the BEST breathing head out there PERIOD. If not then yes on everything, but they have no accessory holes, which makes it hard for all the extra stuff a 95 has. A no accessory hole head is closer to a old hotrod head on a dragcar but you can run everything needed for the street. You have to have brackets that go around the no head bolt deal.

They have been fixed in order to run pump gas. Yes, you could run them on a TBI motor, but like Thumper said, no accesory holes, and I am not sure the TBI intake would bolt to these heads, may would have to run a carb, but I'm not sure

Thumper is right your best bet would be a Vortec but you would have to get another intake I believe. I dont think it would benefit you very much unless you do more mods.

These heads would be great for a hot rod without having to run a dome piston. Have you put these on Double R's site? Lots of mudracers live by these things.
