Okay guys, it's official. Members of the club (you need to have a card or get in touch with me) get batteries at wholesale. It works out this...anyplace that sells interstate batteries buys them from us at lower price. Club members get them at that lower price. This includes the optima batteries. I will get the cost on the red and yellow tops tomorrow and post em. Mike, I will get the computer graphic to you next week. This works out to about a 20 percent (or more) discount. Also, going to get the owner to get a bunch of window stickers if anyone wants em, nothing fancy, just says "interstate batteries" in about 1.5 inch letters. those should be free. Just wanted to let everyone know. Brian was pretty excited at the idea.

I'd go w/ a yellow top for that winch, especially w/ the 20% discount.

Yeah I wondered about that. Whats the difference between red top and yellow top? I've only got room for one batery.

Stinky: Great news!!
How can the club get in touch with your boss to officially thank him for the sponsorship?
Steve/Larry: I'm thinking of some sort of letter (I'd be happy to write it up for your signatures) and then mail that to him along with a printed copy of our sponsor page showing his information has been added.
What do you think?

I'm guessing that you already figured it out, but incase others do not know....
From what I understand a red top is an excellent battery for starting your rig, but a yellow top is an excellent deep cycle battery for running things on your rig. It can handle a lot of load put on it unlike a red top that is mainly just used as a cranking battery. Anybody else jump in here if they can explain it better than I can ;).

The equipment I work on in the Air Force mainly use red tops but some of the new stuff has been coming in with blue tops (the marine battery). These are suposed to be much better then the red or yellow top, but cost alot more.

yellow tops are good for long winching cycles
the best bet is to set up a dual battery.
connect your winch to the yellow and engine to the red!

the yellow top only has 50 less cold cranking amps than the red top, and has the deep cycle abilities. I would run at least run one yellow top. If you are going to run dual, run both yellow. We never have them come in on warranty. Just my .02 cents.

okay, did some research. The only diffirence between a blue top and yellow top is the posts. blue tops have a marine type screw post as well as the normal one. Yellow tops have the normal post and side posts. I would honestly just run dual yellow tops
