So in planning, we had 20 people going, but 11 had to back out for various reasons. So we were left with only 9 that went.
But let me assure you, they missed out. It was a lot of fun!
We started out just a tad bit early, so the water didn't come up until about 1/4 way through. But it was certainly less paddling than last year.
We didn't see a single snake... but there sure was a big problem with a lot of "mountain lions" on the river (see the last few pics).

We spent a good amount of time teasing Clint over his skirt.
We decided that he needs to buy a plaid one and call it a kilt.

While Clint and I enjoy some Belhaven Scottish Ale, Jed tries to re-create the epic RAAWWRRR our current treasurer performed the year before.

Now, at one point, my wife starts shouting that there was a mountain lion or a bobcat or something drinking out of the river on the other side!!!

Yeah... I know it's a speck, we're far away, but look close in the center of the picture. Look... really close.
Because, upon closer inspection...

We decided that she might be a udderly wrong about the mountain lion thing.

Mountain Lion Identification FAIL.
You see... mountain lions don't go, "Mooooo".
That gave us all a pretty good laugh for awhile.
Lastly, here's Clint rolling his Kayak successfully! And then... he pushed his luck and tried it a second time.

Since none of us brought fishing gear, and thus, didn't catch any fish... we ended the day by hitting Sakura and we ate a bunch of sushi for dinner.
Very good Sushi, although a bunch of wet tired floaters in river shoes and flip-flops looked rather out of place in there.
Overall, it was another good float trip. We'll have to try to do one in the spring next time when we have a better choice of rivers.
AND we were tossing around the idea of a tube-float on the Caddo (2.5 miles) this fall, when we might have a little more water and it isn't so unbelievably hot.
But let me assure you, they missed out. It was a lot of fun!
