y'all might want to check out the forums over at ford-trucks.com (http://www.ford-trucks.com). *my dad lurks over there quite a bit and it seems those questions have been beaten to death in their respectinve boards.

I would recommend a SCT Xcal2. I have one on my 05 Ford PSD. Matched up with custom tunes from http://www.dj-performance.com/ the power is unreal and so is the mpg.

so how much does that programer cost? I have an 05 f150 and could always use the extra MPG:vrolijk_26:

The best bet for a gas rig is to eith a : Sell it. Buy diesel. If A is out of the question, run a good exhaust with about .25"-.5" larger pipe than stock. I personally suggest flowmaster. Also use a K&N or comparable air filter. Don't use a full cold air intake because the larger diameter intake tube actually allows the incoming air charge to travel slower and not put as much in the cylinder thereby reducing your power and performance. Think of the ram air systems of older cars. A throttle body spacer is a good move too.

I run a bully dog triple pup in my 05 PSD. I run it on the middle of the three tunes (economy/tow, performance, extreme). Its just right. I wont lie...the first time I drove it with the tuner I was actually a little bit afraid of the torque. It launched and pulled so hard. I never expected a 8000 lb truck to pin me to the seat but it will...Its amazing what a tuner will do for your diesel.
